Fubara restates APC membership and highlights completion of Rumuigbo General and Neuropsychiatric Hospitals in Rivers State

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has publicly reaffirmed that he remains a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), putting to rest recent rumours suggesting he had defected to another political party.

The clarification came during his inspection visit to the newly completed General Hospital and the fully remodelled Neuropsychiatric Hospital located in Rumuigbo, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.

Fubara explained that the reports circulating in sections of the media were misleading and based on social media interpretations, stressing that his political affiliation with the APC has not changed.

He urged the public and media practitioners to avoid spreading unverified information, adding that he remains committed to supporting the interests and progress of his party.During the facility tour, the governor expressed satisfaction with the level of work done on both health projects.

He noted that the rehabilitation of the psychiatric facility and the construction of a new General Hospital were driven by the need to address critical healthcare gaps in the area.

According to him, residents previously had to travel long distances, including to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, to access medical services. He emphasised that the new hospitals were fully completed and designed to serve surrounding communities such as Rumuola and Rumuolumeni.

Fubara also described the projects as part of his administration’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery and ensuring citizens have access to quality medical services closer to their communities. He reiterated that governance should prioritise the welfare of the people and assured that more development projects would continue across the state.
