The Eze Oha Evo III of Evo Kingdom, His Majesty King Leslie N.Eke, has said that the steady development being witnessed in Rivers State is largely as a result of peace, unity, and the calm leadership style of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

He made this known while speaking with journalists at his palace in Woji Community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, during activities marking the 59th anniversary of the creation of Rivers State and the governor’s three years in office.

The monarch explained that since the creation of Rivers State on May 27, 1967, the state has gone through several political, economic, and security challenges, but the current administration has helped to maintain relative peace across different communities.

According to him, peace remains the foundation for any meaningful development, stressing that without stability, infrastructural growth and economic progress cannot be sustained.King Eke also praised Governor Fubara for promoting unity among the diverse ethnic groups in the state.

He noted that the governor’s inclusive governance style and calm approach have contributed to improved harmony and reduced tensions in many parts of Rivers State.

He added that despite ongoing political pressures, the administration has continued to record visible achievements in key sectors such as infrastructure, healthcare, and human capital development.

The traditional ruler further highlighted that the cooperation between government and traditional institutions has played an important role in resolving communal disputes and reducing youth restiveness.He encouraged continued synergy between both sides to sustain peace and stability.He also called on youths to avoid violence and criminal activities, urging them to embrace education, dialogue, and legitimate means of livelihood.Political actors were equally advised to prioritize the collective interest of Rivers State above personal ambitions.He expressed optimism that the state would continue to experience growth if peace and unity are maintained.
