Three masked men stole over 90 sovereigns of gold from the residence of businessman Sri Aravind Ram in Sivakasi on Saturday night.The family returned home around 11:30 p.m.to find the main gate broken open.As they approached, an SUV nearby honked, prompting the robbers to rush out with a bag of loot.They brandished weapons at the panicked family, including two children, and fled the scene.Police believe the robbers were caught off-guard by the family's sudden appearance.A police officer noted that the thieves failed to secure the bag's zipper, causing some gold ornaments to fall.Sivakasi Town police are using CCTV footage to track the SUV involved.The incident highlights vulnerabilities in home security and the need for better surveillance in the area.
