Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has called on residents to expose bandit informants and collaborators, stressing that lasting peace cannot be achieved if criminal networks continue to receive support from within communities.

Speaking at a sensitisation programme, Radda highlighted the need for collaboration between Islamic clerics, traditional rulers, community leaders, security agencies, and the public to combat insecurity.

He emphasized that every resident has a role in strengthening security by providing intelligence to law enforcement and refusing to shield those aiding criminal groups.

Radda noted that his administration's recruitment of 2,500 personnel into the Katsina Community Watch Corps has significantly improved security, with previously unsafe roads now accessible and markets resuming operations.However, he warned that security agencies remain vigilant against emerging threats in certain areas.

The governor commended the Community Watch Corps as an indispensable partner in the state's security efforts and urged politicians not to politicise security issues.

He also called on Islamic clerics to promote law obedience and peaceful coexistence through sermons, while reaffirming his administration's commitment to strengthening traditional institutions.Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Joɓe added that welfare packages for traditional rulers have been enhanced to bolster community security.

The event, organised by the Katsina Scholars Forum, aimed to equip leaders with tools to address security challenges, with speakers urging continued prayers for peace and support for government initiatives.
