HER Initiative, a Tanzanian women's empowerment organization, has announced the selection of 50 young women for its Panda Academy programme, a six-month training initiative aimed at transforming their talents into viable businesses within Tanzania's expanding beauty economy.

The programme, launched during a press briefing in Dar es Salaam, focuses on bridging the gap between raw talent and market-ready enterprises by providing comprehensive business development training, technical skills, and mentorship.

Participants will specialize in four key sectors: nail technology, leather product manufacturing, cosmetics and beauty services, and perfume production.The initiative addresses critical barriers such as limited access to finance, restricted market access, and inadequate branding capabilities.

By adopting a 'Learn → Earn → Lead' framework, the programme equips participants with skills in business management, digital marketing, regulatory compliance, and sustainable business practices.Since its inception, Panda Academy has supported over 210 women entrepreneurs across diverse sectors, contributing to local economic development.

The programme's emphasis on long-term sustainability aligns with Tanzania's national economic goals, positioning graduates as leaders in their communities.
