Kenya's Ambassador to UNEP, Ida Odinga, had a light-hearted but firm chat with Maurice Ogeta when he visited the Odinga family home in Karen on Monday, June 1.
Ogeta, who once served as a bodyguard to the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, was part of the Gor Mahia delegation presenting the Kenya Premier League trophy to honour Raila, their patron.During the visit, Ida reminded Ogeta that they had not seen him since Raila’s burial.The exchange, which also involved her children Rosemary and Raila Junior, sparked laughter and sympathy among those present.Ogeta appeared emotional while addressing the family, and Raila Junior consoled him.
The interaction highlighted both respect and personal grief, as social media users commented on the difficulty Ogeta may have faced after Raila's death.
Separately, Ogeta was praised for completing a three-storey apartment in Bondo, which he allocated to family members for rental income, showing his continued commitment to his family.The visit reflected both remembrance of Raila and the strengthening of personal bonds within the Odinga circle.
