A suspected improvised explosive device (IED) attack targeted a police armoured personnel carrier (APC) on Tank-Jandola Road in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tank district, resulting in the martyrdom of two officers and injuries to four others.Police sources confirmed that the IED was detonated along the roadside while the APC was on routine patrol near Shaheed Mureed Akbar Police Station.Assistant Sub-Inspector Fareedullah and Constable Akhtar Zaman were killed, while Constables Abdul Malik and Qudratullah sustained injuries.The injured were rushed to the district headquarters hospital, and security forces cordoned off the area for investigation.Authorities are collecting evidence and launching a probe to trace the perpetrators.

KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed condolences, praised the slain officers' sacrifice against terrorism, and directed authorities to ensure medical care for the wounded.

The incident highlights ongoing terrorist threats in Tank, where police have faced multiple attacks recently, including grenade incidents and gun violence in public areas.
