Intel Plans Core 200 Raptor Lake Next Processors for LGA-1700 Platform Launch in 2027

Intel is reportedly preparing another refresh of its long-running LGA-1700 desktop platform with a new processor family known as Core 200 “Raptor Lake Next,” scheduled for production in early 2027.

According to information cited by VideoCardz, Tom’s Hardware, and industry leaker Jaykihn, the new lineup will continue using the Raptor Lake architecture and will remain compatible with existing LGA-1700 motherboards, including both DDR4 and DDR5 memory configurations. The processors are expected to be marketed under the Core 200 branding rather than the Core 14 series.

The report suggests that Raptor Lake Next is essentially another refresh of the current Raptor Lake generation rather than a major architectural redesign.

Intel has reportedly not disclosed significant technical changes, but maintaining support for older DDR4 systems could make the platform attractive to users seeking affordable upgrades without replacing their motherboards and memory.

Roadmap information indicates that production is currently planned for late January 2027, with qualification samples potentially becoming available by the end of 2026.

Preliminary specifications mentioned in the report include a 125W 16-core model featuring 8 Performance cores and 8 Efficiency cores, a 65W 20-core variant with 8 Performance cores and 12 Efficiency cores, a 10-core model with 6 Performance cores and 4 Efficiency cores, and an entry-level 4-core processor using only Performance cores.

If these plans materialize, LGA-1700 will have supported Alder Lake and three generations of Raptor Lake-derived products, giving it a significantly longer lifespan than Intel’s newer LGA-1851 platform, which has so far been associated primarily with Arrow Lake and its refreshes. The information remains unofficial and is based on roadmap leaks and industry sources rather than a formal Intel announcement.
