During the session, the learners reviewed their progress using tests, interactive exercises, and gamified assessments designed by the program’s creator, Tatyana Semke, who specializes in teaching Russian as a foreign language.
The students discussed their motivations for learning Russian, the difficulties they face, and even explored similarities between Russian vocabulary and words from their native languages. The group was divided into teams for creative tasks, including describing images using suggested vocabulary shown on screen.
The session concluded with a collaborative storytelling activity in which participants created a shared narrative centered on friendship between nations and cultural understanding.According to organizers, the format encouraged emotional engagement, communication, and practical language use in real-time interaction.
Tamara Skok, Director of Innovative Linguistic Projects at TV BRICS, emphasized the value of face-to-face learning, highlighting its ability to foster emotional connection, energy exchange, and deeper engagement compared to distance learning. She noted that such initiatives help international students better integrate into Russian-speaking environments.
