British volunteer Ayrton Redfearn killed while serving in Ukraine’s Donetsk region
Iran's parliament is reportedly considering a bill that would authorise a £43.5 million reward for anyone who assassinates former US President Donald Trump or Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
This move is said to be in retaliation for the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in strikes carried out by US and Israeli forces at the start of the ongoing conflict.
The proposed legislation, titled 'Reciprocal Action by Military and Security Forces of the Islamic Republic', has been announced by Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of Iran's national security commission.
According to Iranian state media, the bounty would allow any Muslim or supporter of Iran to take action against the two leaders, both of whom have previously been subject to fatwas.
The escalation follows a series of threats and statements from Iranian officials, including Mahmood Nabavian, warning of retaliation against the US, Israel, and their regional allies.
Meanwhile, a planned full-scale American strike on Iran was postponed after intervention from Gulf states, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE, who advocated further diplomatic negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear programme.Trump stated that serious talks were underway and emphasised his insistence that Iran must not acquire nuclear weapons. Both countries remain in a tense standoff, with diplomacy and military threats continuing to shape the situation.
