Italian airline Neos has launched scheduled flights to Kilimanjaro International Airport in northern Tanzania, marking a significant expansion of air connectivity between East Africa and European markets.This development is expected to enhance tourism arrivals and strengthen economic ties between the regions.

The new service brings the total number of international carriers at Kilimanjaro to 16, signaling growing international confidence in Tanzania as a premier tourism and business destination.

Airport director Eng Rehema Myeya highlighted that the airline's decision reflects the region's increasing appeal to European travelers and investors.

Enhanced connectivity will facilitate easier access to Tanzania's natural attractions like Mount Kilimanjaro, Serengeti National Park, and Ngorongoro Conservation Area.The expansion supports Tanzania's efforts to grow its tourism sector, which is a key economic pillar.Improved air access is anticipated to create jobs, boost business relationships, and generate revenue through tourism activities.

Neos Station Manager Antonella Balestra praised Tanzania's business environment, noting supportive government policies have enabled the airline's 20-year presence.Weekly flights on Wednesdays will benefit hotels, tour operators, and local communities reliant on tourism.
