Jason Lewis, famed for his role as Samantha Jones' love interest on Sex And The City, has broken his three-year silence with a video posted on Instagram.

The 54-year-old actor explained that he went quiet in 2023 not due to a lack of ideas, but because he was fully engrossed in a demanding creative project that left little room for anything else.

In the video, filmed on a tropical beach, he signalled that he is now ready to reconnect with his audience and hinted at future updates about his work.

Lewis, who has also appeared in Charmed, Beverly Hills, 90210, House, Brothers & Sisters, and How I Met Your Mother, last appeared publicly in 2022 on Dancing With The Stars, where he was the first contestant eliminated.

Fans will remember his character Smith Jerrod, a young waiter turned actor, whose romance with Samantha Jones became a significant storyline on the show.Lewis has not reprised the role in the latest series, And Just Like That, and confirmed he was not approached for the revival.Off-screen, he proposed to producer Liz Godwin in 2019 and has previously dated actress Rosario Dawson.His reappearance marks the end of a self-imposed professional hiatus and signals a potential new chapter in his career.
