Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Jayden Adams believes the recent success of both Sundowns and Orlando Pirates will have a positive impact on Bafana Bafana as they prepare for the upcoming Fifa World Cup in North America.Sundowns recently lifted the CAF Champions League trophy after defeating AS FAR 2-1 on aggregate, ending a 10-year wait for continental glory.

At the same time, Orlando Pirates secured the Betway Premiership title with a 2-0 win against Orbit College, strengthening their position as one of South Africa’s dominant domestic sides.

Adams said the achievements of both clubs should serve as a confidence boost for national team players, many of whom are expected to form the core of the Bafana Bafana squad at the World Cup, which will be hosted in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

He emphasised the importance of unity, suggesting that players from both clubs must come together and “fight for the country” when representing the national team.

Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams echoed similar sentiments, noting that the demanding season had tested players but also built resilience and character within the squad.
