A joint operation led by Bannu District Police Officer (DPO) Captain (retd) Muhammad Furqan Bilal, involving district police, Elite Force, Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), and the army, resulted in the killing of one terrorist and the detention of eight individuals in Bannu district.The operation, conducted in Grera Shah Jahan village, saw the army cordoning off the area and establishing blocking positions.

A terrorist was killed while attempting to plant an improvised explosive device (IED), and authorities recovered an AK-47 rifle, magazines, and a bandolier.Eight suspects were handed over to CTD and district police for investigation.Additionally, two motorcycles and a rickshaw were seized from the house of wanted terrorist Zargul.The operation follows recent security threats in Bannu, including attacks on police and suicide bombings.Security forces have intensified operations to combat terrorism, with the military reporting the elimination of 24 terrorists in the past 24 hours.The DPO’s leadership was commended for maintaining law and order and protecting public safety.
