The Kano State Hisbah Board has enforced a ban on downloading and distributing movies through mobile phones across the state's 44 local government areas.

The directive, announced by Deputy Commander General Dr Mujahid Aminuddeen, aims to uphold public morality and Islamic values by preventing the spread of pornographic content and videos deemed inconsistent with Sharia principles.The board claims the move follows complaints about operators using mobile phones to circulate explicit material.Enforcement actions include deploying personnel for routine patrols and legal action against violators.

The Hisbah Board, established to promote Sharia compliance, has previously banned items like headed mannequins, 'Black Friday' sales, and uncensored films at charging centers.This measure reflects ongoing efforts to regulate public conduct and protect cultural values in Kano State.
