Karachi Rangers Attack Linked to Afghanistan-Based Terrorists, Says Police

The police have confirmed that the attack on a Rangers camp in Karachi last month was orchestrated with support from Afghanistan.The incident occurred on June 27, 2026, when terrorists targeted the local headquarters of the Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) in the Gulistan-i-Jauhar area, resulting in three security personnel killed and four injured.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attack was carried out by terrorists affiliated with the Indian proxy group Jamaatul Ahrar (JuA).Three terrorists were killed during a retaliatory operation, while one was arrested and identified as an Afghan national.

City Senior Superintendent of Police Irfan Bahadur detailed the involvement of Afghan elements in all phases of the attack, including planning, training, logistics, and weapon provision.

The police emphasized that Afghanistan provided backing for the facilitator group in Karachi and issued instructions until the final stages of the operation.This incident underscores the persistent threat of cross-border terrorism and the need for enhanced security measures.The police have also warned of the potential for further attacks and are urging the public to remain vigilant.
