The Kebbi State Government has finalized plans to sponsor 300 couples in its third mass wedding program.Chairman of the Mass Wedding Committee, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu, revealed this during a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi.The beneficiaries were selected from the state's 21 local government areas and 225 wards after a thorough screening process.

The initiative, organized by the state government in partnership with the governor's wife's foundation, is open to all eligible indigenes regardless of ethnic or religious background.Each groom will receive N250,000 as dowry per Islamic law, while couples must undergo compulsory medical checks to ensure health compatibility.Local governments are also verifying that grooms have stable income sources.The wedding ceremony will take place in Birnin Kebbi with Governor Nasir Idris, Islamic clerics, and dignitaries in attendance.The NANAS Foundation will provide essential items like beds, food, and household goods to help couples start their married life.A monitoring committee will track the couples' welfare post-wedding to ensure proper use of provided resources.This initiative highlights the government's efforts to promote social unity and support community development through cultural events.
