Veteran Kenyan musician King Kaka has spoken openly about the end of his 13-year marriage to fellow public figure Nana Owiti, saying the separation came as a shock to him, just as it did to many of their fans.

The couple officially confirmed their split in December 2024 through a joint statement, where they emphasised that despite ending their romantic relationship, they remain committed to co-parenting their children respectfully and responsibly.In a recent interview on Radio Citizen while promoting his new album, King Kaka reflected on his new life as a bachelor.

He admitted that being single has given him time for self-reflection and personal growth, noting that he has learned more about himself during the period he has been living alone.

He also shared a light personal experience where he once returned home late and found no food, forcing him to survive on a simple meal of Weetabix and soda.This moment, he said, pushed him to learn basic cooking skills.

The rapper also confirmed that he is currently open to dating again, revealing that he has been receiving many messages from admirers since announcing his single status.However, he clarified that it is still too early to decide whether he will remarry, saying he is taking time to plan his life carefully.

He emphasised that co-parenting with Nana Owiti is going well, with regular communication and shared responsibility for their children, especially over weekends when he spends time with them.While he is not rushing into anything serious, he admitted that he is gradually considering a future relationship.
