Three female worshippers kidnapped during a March 22 attack on an ECWA Church in Kwara State have been rescued after 105 days in captivity, marking the end of a traumatic ordeal.The women were freed by a joint security operation involving the Nigerian Army, DSS, Police, and vigilantes.However, five worshippers lost their lives during the kidnapping, leaving the community heartbroken.

The Omugo Development Union president, Prince Oladimeji Ladi Thompson, praised the security agencies for their efforts but expressed grief over the deaths.The abductors initially demanded a N1 billion ransom, which was later reduced.Community members raised funds and provided supplies, but the five victims did not survive.Thompson urged unity and rebuilding efforts, while also calling for those who fled due to insecurity to return.The incident sparked widespread outrage and highlighted the community's resilience.The rescue brings hope, but the loss of lives remains a painful reminder of the crisis.
