Victims recounted how they were ambushed by six armed men at night, taken into the woods, and made to walk for hours until the kidnappers, overwhelmed by fatigue, fell asleep.Seizing the opportunity, the victims fled to a police station, where they reported their ordeal.The police confirmed arresting 32 suspected kidnappers in June, rescuing 38 victims through covert operations.Commissioner Monday Agbonika highlighted ongoing efforts against violent crimes, noting 45 suspects arrested in the state.The incident underscores police collaboration with security agencies and community support in combating criminal activities.
The victims, however, described being beaten and maltreated during captivity, with one spending four days in the kidnappers' hideout before being released for a ransom.The case highlights both the brutality of kidnapping and the challenges faced by victims in seeking justice.
