Lagos State Clarifies No Movement Restrictions During Sanitation Exercise

The Lagos State Government has clarified that residents are free to move during the monthly environmental sanitation exercise, stating there is no policy restricting movement.Commissioner Tokunbo Wahab emphasized that arrests based solely on movement during the exercise are illegal. The clarification came after a user raised concerns about an alleged arrest linked to the sanitation campaign at Ikeja Police Station.

Wahab explained that the sanitation program aims to promote environmental hygiene and is supported by the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law, 2017.
