A landslide triggered by heavy rains from Super Typhoon Inday (Bavi) killed five villagers in Barangay Ngingir, Calanogas, Lanao del Sur, on July 10.The incident occurred after two days of recurring downpours loosened a hillside, causing tons of mud and rocks to cascade into residential areas.Emergency responders and police recovered the bodies of Norhana Ali, Akmad Camar, Naifa Mansawi, Juhary Muhshin, and Norhaya Camar.Six other residents are still missing, with two injured.The disaster affected over 30,000 villagers in Maguindanao del Sur and Lanao del Norte.Authorities warned of potential landslides and urged communities to prepare for weather extremes.
