Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, alongside Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, inaugurated the 63-km Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway, reducing travel time between the cities from over two hours to 40 minutes.The project, costing ₹4,500 crore, addresses long-standing traffic congestion issues.

It features advanced technology like AI-based traffic management systems, automated construction methods, and a Multi-Lane Free Flow tolling system with FASTag and ANPR technology.The expressway includes 80 HD cameras, 16 Video Incident Detection Systems, and speed radars for safety.The project, designated National Expressway-6 (NE-6), was divided into two packages by NHAI, with PNC Infratech handling construction.The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for modern infrastructure and good governance in Uttar Pradesh.
