Marcos to hold working visit in Singapore to strengthen bilateral ties and meet business leaders
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.departed for Singapore on Tuesday afternoon for an official visit, according to Malacañang.The President left at 5:27 p.m.together with several government officials as part of a scheduled trip aimed at reinforcing the long-standing relationship between the Philippines and Singapore.During the visit, President Marcos is expected to pay a courtesy call on Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.
Both leaders are set to discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in key areas such as trade, investment, healthcare, and environmental initiatives.
They are also expected to exchange views on current regional and global developments while reaffirming their shared commitment to ASEAN centrality, regional stability, and continued cooperation among Southeast Asian nations.
Aside from official government meetings, President Marcos is scheduled to engage with business leaders and potential investors during the Milken Institute Private Roundtable Discussion.
The meeting is expected to provide an opportunity to promote the Philippines as an investment destination and encourage stronger economic partnerships with Singapore-based and international businesses.
Meanwhile, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos will also participate in the visit by delivering a message during the Global Economic Cooperation East Summit.
The official visit highlights the Philippine government's efforts to deepen diplomatic and economic ties with Singapore while pursuing greater collaboration in areas that support economic growth, regional security, sustainable development, and investment opportunities for both countries.
