Marvel Studios has officially cast British actor David Jonsson as the adult Prince T’Challa in Black Panther 3, continuing the legacy of Chadwick Boseman’s late portrayal.

The announcement was made during Marvel’s Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, with director Ryan Coogler confirming his return to helm the sequel.

Scheduled for release on December 15, 2028, the film will feature Jonsson as T’Challa, also known as Toussaint, introduced in the closing moments of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.This decision honors Boseman’s legacy while advancing the story through a new generation of Wakandan heroes.Jonsson joins Letitia Wright (Shuri) and Winston Duke (M’Baku) in the cast, with Denzel Washington set to appear in an undisclosed role.The film marks Coogler’s return as writer-director, maintaining continuity in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
