Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko and his wife, Primrose Mbuvi, hosted the traditional wedding of their daughter Janetta Nyamu on June 13, 2026, at their home in Mua Hills, Machakos County.Janetta married her fiancé, Elvis Kintu, who works as a director of photography, in a colourful ceremony attended by family and guests.

While the wedding itself attracted attention, much of the public discussion focused on Sonko's convoy of luxury vehicles that was seen during the event.

The fleet reportedly included a 2024 Range Rover Vogue with customised number plates, two Mercedes-Benz G63 models, several Range Rovers and a recently acquired BMW i7 luxury sedan.Sonko's son, Satrine Osinya, shared images of the BMW i7 on social media, highlighting it as the latest addition to the family's collection.According to Nairobi-based car dealer Denis Kimanthi, the vehicles present at the wedding could have a combined value of about KSh 150 million.

He estimated the Range Rover Vogue at around KSh 45 million, each Mercedes G63 at approximately KSh 30 million, and the BMW i7 at about KSh 25 million.Kimanthi also noted that the BMW i7 remains a rare vehicle in Kenya, with very few units available in the country.

The display of wealth generated significant reactions online, with many Kenyans discussing and debating Sonko's lifestyle and his preference for high-end vehicles.The event once again highlighted Sonko's reputation for travelling with luxury convoys and maintaining a collection of premium automobiles.
