The 28th Infantry Battalion under the Army’s 10th Infantry Division is deploying to Bangsamoro municipalities to support election security for the first-ever September 14 parliamentary elections in the autonomous region.

Major General Alvin Luzon emphasized that troops will operate under the guidance of the Commission on Elections and the 6th Infantry Division, which covers key areas in Cotabato province and adjacent regions.

This joint effort with the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region aims to ensure peaceful voting across provinces like Maguindanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, and Basilan.Navy personnel will also secure parts of Cotabato City, highlighting the multi-agency coordination for electoral stability.

The deployment underscores the importance of maintaining order in a region with historical tensions, ensuring that the elections proceed without disruptions.
