The sequel to the 2025 hit film A Minecraft Movie has been officially titled A Minecraft Movie Squared and is scheduled for release on 23rd July 2027.

A new behind-the-scenes clip has introduced Kirsten Dunst as Alex and confirmed the return of Jack Black as Steve, alongside other familiar faces like Danielle Brooks and Jennifer Coolidge.The film promises to delve deeper into the Minecraft universe, featuring new biomes, characters, and mobs.

Matt Berry, who previously voiced a minor character, will have a larger role, sparking speculation among fans that he may portray Herobrine, the legendary evil version of Steve from Minecraft lore.While there are rumours about Ariana Grande joining the cast, nothing has been confirmed.

The film continues the trend of blending iconic gaming elements with cinematic storytelling, aiming to satisfy both long-time fans and newcomers to the franchise.

As of now, the return of some characters from the original film, such as Emma Myers’ Natalie and Sebastian Eugene Hansen’s Henry, has not been confirmed.
