House prosecution urges Sara Duterte to attend impeachment trial proceedings
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has once again been awarded the highest audit rating by the Commission on Audit (COA), securing an unmodified opinion for its 2025 financial statements.
This marks the seventh consecutive time the agency has received this clean audit result, reflecting strong financial management and transparency in its operations.
According to COA, the MMDA’s financial statements fairly present its financial position, performance, equity changes, cash flows, and budget-versus-actual results.
The audit body also confirmed that the agency’s reporting aligns with International Public Sector Accounting Standards, reinforcing the credibility and reliability of its financial disclosures.
MMDA Chairman Romando Artes welcomed the result, describing it as a testament to the agency’s commitment to integrity and responsible use of public funds.
He emphasized that the achievement reflects ongoing reforms in financial reporting and governance practices that began during his earlier role in the agency’s finance and administration office.
Artes further highlighted that the consistent audit success demonstrates the dedication of MMDA personnel in ensuring efficient and transparent public service delivery.
The agency noted that maintaining an unmodified opinion for seven straight years underscores its continued efforts to strengthen accountability mechanisms and improve financial systems.
The recognition is also seen as an affirmation of public trust, as the MMDA continues to manage resources for traffic management, urban development, and other metropolitan services in Metro Manila.
Overall, the latest COA rating reinforces the MMDA’s reputation as a government agency with strong fiscal discipline and adherence to global accounting standards, signaling sustained progress in governance and public sector accountability.
