Regional Commissioner Said Mtanda commended stakeholders for this milestone, noting the region's exceptional coordination between government, educators, parents, and partners.The latest NECTA Form Six Examination results show 57% of candidates achieved First Class honors, with a 99.9% overall pass rate, placing Mwanza among Tanzania's top-performing regions.Three secondary schools—Nsumba, Sengerema, and Nganza—were recognized for producing 148 First Class graduates.
The region's sports dominance, including five consecutive UMISETA championships, reflects a holistic approach to education that values athletic development.Cultural preservation is also emphasized through the Kanindo dance group's five-year championship streak.
Mtanda highlighted sustained investment and collaboration as key to Mwanza's success, with plans to enhance educational infrastructure, sports programs, and cultural promotion.
The region's achievements have attracted educational study tours, including a recent visit from Zanzibar educators seeking to replicate its strategies.
