The Nagpur Cyber Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against multiple social media content creators for allegedly conducting a defamatory digital campaign targeting Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.The legal action follows contested online posts criticizing the government's Ethanol-blended (E20) fuel policy.

Joint Commissioner Navinchandra Reddy confirmed the FIR registration under sections 356, 352, 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act.

The complaint was filed by BJP's Shishir Tripathi, alleging false statements in a YouTube video by Manish Kashyap and other accounts like 'Desi Boys' and 'Harshit Rathi'.These posts were claimed to spread baseless allegations about Gadkari and E20 fuel, potentially causing public unrest.AAP's Arvind Kejriwal also urged the Centre to reconsider E20 petrol rollout for incompatible vehicles.The FIR highlights the intersection of social media influence and governmental policy debates in India.
