The 10th edition of the annual Nanenane agricultural exhibition in Zanzibar, scheduled from August 1 to 8, aims to transform the event into a platform for practical training and investment attraction.

Minister Suleiman Masoud Makame emphasized that this year's focus will be on hands-on demonstrations for farmers and livestock keepers, guiding them through poultry farming and vegetable gardening.

The exhibition, themed 'Youth and women are catalysts for development,' seeks to reduce reliance on food imports, particularly rice, by promoting local production.

Partnerships with financial institutions like the Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB) will facilitate access to affordable loans, empowering women and youth in agriculture.The event also highlights success stories to inspire new entrants into farming and horticulture.Despite enthusiasm, space constraints at the Dole Kizimbani grounds remain a challenge as applications for participation continue to grow.
