Praful Patel, national working president of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), has dismissed claims of internal rifts within the party, stating that a legal challenge by national secretary Sachchidanand Singh against Sunetra Pawar's election as president holds no weight.

Patel emphasized that all senior leaders engage with Pawar on political matters, and the letter from Singh, which alleges the February 26 election was unconstitutional, is deemed invalid.

The legal notice issued by Singh's team on July 9 demands a fresh election under an independent authority, citing procedural violations in the original process.

Patel defended the election, asserting that all constitutional protocols were followed, and the party leadership has 15 days to respond to the legal demands.The controversy follows the demise of former president Ajit Pawar, creating a leadership vacuum.

The NCP's recent submission of revised office-bearer lists to the Election Commission, with alleged typographical errors, has further fueled discussions about internal dynamics.Patel stressed the need for corrective measures to maintain the party's relevance in Maharashtra and national politics.
