Legal Battle Over Forged Documents And Bribery Allegations Against Presidential Aide
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has issued a stern warning to Nigerians about fraudulent auction offers being circulated by scammers who impersonate senior officials.
The agency clarified that no NDLEA official, including the Secretary to the Agency, Barrister Shadrach Haruna, has the authority to privately sell or allocate forfeited vehicles or seized assets. The scam involves fake letters and messages offering cheap prices for vehicles seized as proceeds of drug crimes.
NDLEA emphasized that all such assets are auctioned through public processes managed by government-registered auctioneers, with legitimate auctions widely publicized in national media.
The agency urged the public to ignore and report any private offers or messages claiming to originate from NDLEA officials, advising immediate reporting to local commands or official channels. This warning underscores NDLEA's commitment to transparency and combating fraud in its operations.
