The Niger State Police Command carried out a major crackdown on unregistered vehicles, defaced number plates, and illegal tinted glasses, resulting in the impoundment of 115 vehicles across the state.

SP Wasiu Abiodun revealed that officers intercepted these vehicles at various checkpoints for operating without proper registration, displaying obscured plates, or using tinted glasses without authorization.Over 90 vehicles found in violation of traffic laws were investigated and charged in court.The operation aims to boost public safety, prevent crimes, and ensure compliance with vehicle registration rules.Commissioner Adamu Elleman praised officers for their professionalism and urged continued cooperation from the public.He emphasized that the crackdown is to enhance security, not inconvenience law-abiding citizens.Motorists are advised to ensure their vehicles are properly registered and plates are clearly visible.The police also provided contact numbers for complaints or observations.This enforcement highlights the state's commitment to road safety and crime prevention.
