At least nine kidnapped victims escaped from their abductors during a military operation in Katsina State.The Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, rescued the victims and recovered 56 livestock during intelligence-led raids.According to Lt.Col.Aliyu Danja, the victims were abducted on July 9, 2026, along the Tsafe-Kuchere Road in Zamfara State.They fled after their abductors fell asleep, allowing troops to intercept and rescue them.In another operation, terrorists attempted to rustle livestock in Bakori Local Government Area but were repelled by soldiers.A suspected terrorist was arrested during routine operations, with items linked to his activities recovered.The Theatre Commander praised the troops for their efforts against terrorism and criminality in the North-West region.The rescued victims are now in safe custody awaiting family reunification.The military emphasized ongoing operations to dismantle terror networks and curb crime.
