Ruth Zaipuna, the Managing Director and CEO of NMB Bank Plc, represented Tanzania’s banking progress at the Cambridge Africa Business Conference 2026 held in the United Kingdom.

She delivered a keynote showing how NMB Bank has transformed over the years, modernizing operations, expanding digital banking, and becoming more competitive globally.Zaipuna stressed that Africa’s development will come from local efforts, strong institutions, and sustainable practices.

The conference gathered investors, African leaders, and financial institutions like the African Development Bank, BlackRock, and British International Investment to explore investment opportunities and partnerships.

Before the conference, Zaipuna met with Tanzania’s High Commissioner to the UK, Mbelwa Kairuki, who praised NMB Bank’s achievements as a reflection of the country’s growing financial strength.The presentation highlighted how Tanzanian banks can serve both corporate and retail clients while contributing to regional economic growth.
