The Office of the Ombudsman has filed 14 graft cases against USWAG Ilonggo party-list Representative James 'Jojo' Ang Jr., accusing him of profiting from DPWH contracts while in office.

The investigation alleges that Ang holds a stake in a construction firm that secured P214 million in government contracts, violating the constitutional ban on lawmakers having financial interests in public projects.

The Ombudsman emphasized that conflict of interest is clear-cut, requiring no proof of corruption but only evidence of potential profit from state contracts.Ang denies wrongdoing, stating his conscience is clear and he is confident in clearing his name.He also expressed willingness to face the cases legally.

The charges are part of a broader probe into infrastructure projects from 2016-2024, with Ang labeled as a 'cong-tractor' by former ICI chairperson Andres Reyes Jr.Other officials, including Arnulfo Go, are also under investigation for similar allegations.
