Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has vowed to support rescued pupils and teachers after they were held captive for 56 days.During a meeting at the Governor’s Office, Makinde assured the victims that the state government would provide medical, psychological, and educational aid to help them recover.

He emphasized that the administration would work with school management, including private institutions like the Baptist school involved, to ensure the students’ and teachers’ needs are met.

Makinde praised the collaborative efforts of security agencies in rescuing the abductees, highlighting how the operation showcased effective coordination.He also thanked President Bola Tinubu for his support and acknowledged the sacrifices of military personnel.The rescued individuals will remain under medical supervision for 24-48 hours before reuniting with families.The military confirmed that the rescue operation targeted dismantling the terrorist network, leading to the unconditional release of captives.Investigations revealed local collaborators aided the kidnappers, prompting calls for community vigilance.The incident underscores Oyo’s commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring educational continuity.
