Pakistan chaired and hosted the 12th meeting of the Heads of Border Services of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) on Friday.The event brought together representatives from Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, along with the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS).Discussions focused on border security, joint operations, and regional cooperation.

Participants reviewed the outcomes of the 'Solidarity-2025' operation and approved plans for 'Solidarity-2026', with Tajikistan set to host the 2027 exercise.The meeting emphasized strengthening border security, mutual trust, and collaboration against terrorism, organized crime, and smuggling.

Iran expressed interest in expanding security partnerships, while Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to the 'Shanghai spirit' and regional stability.The SCO, originally a security group, now includes 10 member states and aims to enhance trade and economic development in the region.
