Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb met a delegation from Honeywell Technologies in Washington to discuss a proposed plan to modernize and expand Pakistan's refinery sector.

The meeting, part of Aurangzeb's three-day visit to the US, focused on leveraging Honeywell's technology and equipment solutions to enhance domestic refining capacity and reduce reliance on imported petroleum products.Discussions included potential financing through US Exim Bank, the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), and international banks.The initiative aims to bolster Pakistan's energy security, industrial development, and sustainable economic growth.The visit also coincided with renewed talks on a broader US-Pakistan economic partnership, covering trade, investment, and tariff negotiations.

Aurangzeb is set to meet US officials and financial institutions to explore funding opportunities for Pakistan's infrastructure, energy, and private-sector projects.

This follows ongoing negotiations over tariffs impacting Pakistani exports and efforts to establish a comprehensive trade agreement amid global economic shifts.
