The Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan (LJCP), chaired by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, has recommended a constitutional amendment to create an 'International Commercial Court of Pakistan'.

This proposal aims to streamline the resolution of cross-border commercial disputes, strengthen enforcement of arbitral awards, and position Pakistan as a hub for international trade.The new court would operate under Article 212-A of the Constitution, ensuring swift dispute resolution and promoting investor confidence.

Additionally, the commission approved extending the jurisdiction of the banking mohtasib to microfinance customers, enhancing consumer protection and financial inclusion.These reforms reflect efforts to align Pakistan's legal framework with global standards while supporting economic growth and foreign investment.
