The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has transferred medical vehicles to local government units (LGUs) in the Mimaropa region to enhance emergency health services.

The handover ceremony, held on July 9 at the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong City, was led by PCSO general manager Melquiades Robles, chairman Felix Reyes, and board directors Imelda Papin and Jennifer Liongson-Guevara.

Under the Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program, two patient transport vehicles were allocated to each of the five provinces in Mimaropa: Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan.

Governors Humerlito Dolor (Oriental Mindoro), Eduardo Gadiano (Occidental Mindoro), Melecio Go (Marinduque), Trina Alejandra Fabic (Romblon), and Amy Alvarez (Palawan) received the vehicles.This initiative aims to improve access to critical healthcare services, particularly in rural areas where emergency medical transport is limited.

The donation underscores PCSO's commitment to supporting public health infrastructure and addressing regional disparities in healthcare accessibility.The vehicles will facilitate faster patient transport, enabling timely medical interventions and reducing mortality rates in emergencies.This collaboration between PCSO and local governments highlights the importance of public-private partnerships in advancing healthcare equity.

The distribution of these vehicles is expected to strengthen the region's capacity to respond to health crises and improve overall community well-being.
