The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Sindh has issued a province-wide alert ahead of expected rain and thunderstorms across various parts of Sindh from July 23 to 25.

Director General Syed Salman Shah confirmed that the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast widespread rain accompanied by thunderstorms due to strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea.

The alert directs district administrations, emergency agencies, and relevant departments to remain on high alert and implement precautionary measures.

Heavy rainfall is expected in areas like Hyderabad, Tharparkar, and Mirpurkhas, while light to moderate rain will affect regions such as Sukkur and Khairpur.Karachi is likely to experience partly cloudy and humid conditions with isolated drizzle.PDMA has activated its monsoon preparedness plan, deploying dewatering pumps and identifying vulnerable low-lying areas for swift flood response.Authorities have also warned of potential damage to structures, electricity poles, and billboards from strong winds and lightning.Citizens are urged to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from unsafe structures, and follow official safety guidelines during the adverse weather.
