APC officials noted prioritizing incumbent governors seeking re-election, ensuring only candidates approved by the primary election appeal committee and National Working Committee are uploaded.Both parties are racing against time to meet INEC’s submission window, with governorship candidate details set to be published on August 29.The exercise involves submitting Forms EC9 to EC9E as per the Electoral Act 2026, with strict deadlines for withdrawing or substituting candidates.

Key figures like Umo Eno, Uba Sani, and Obafemi Hamzat are among those listed, while states like Anambra and Edo will not hold governorship elections outside the general cycle.Political parties aim to submit 28 governorship and 993 state Assembly candidates nationwide.
