Philippines Prepares for Potential Cyclone as LPA Enters PAR

A low-pressure area (LPA) is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) today and may develop into a tropical cyclone within 24 hours, according to PAGASA.

The system, currently located 1,505 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, could be named Kiyapo, marking the 11th cyclone of the year and the fourth this month.While the LPA has not yet impacted the country, it is anticipated to bring rain to the northern Philippines by the weekend.

Meanwhile, regions like Western Visayas, Negros, Palawan, and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.Metro Manila and Luzon will have partly cloudy conditions with isolated rainshowers.The Angat Dam's water level slightly rose but remained below critical levels.
