Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Doha for a day-long visit and met Qatar’s emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to offer condolences on the death of former emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

The PM, accompanied by PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, expressed heartfelt condolences for Sheikh Hamad’s passing, praising his visionary leadership and contributions to Qatar’s development and regional stability.The PM Office highlighted Sheikh Hamad’s warm ties with Pakistan and his numerous visits to the country.

PM Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with Qatar during this mourning period, declaring July 13 as a national day of mourning with the national flag at half-mast.Sheikh Hamad, who ruled Qatar from 1995 to 2013, died at 74, marking the end of an era for the Gulf nation.The Qatari emir thanked Pakistan’s delegation for their gesture, calling it a testament to the strong fraternal bonds between the two countries.
