The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast for another widespread spell of monsoon rains across the country from July 29 to August 5, warning of urban flooding in major cities, flash floods in local streams and nullahs, and potential landslides in vulnerable areas.The monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are expected to penetrate the upper and central parts of the country starting July 29.A westerly wave will strengthen from August 1, bringing widespread rain and thundershowers to most upper and central regions.

Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, and other cities will experience heavy rainfall from July 29 to August 4, while Sindh and Balochistan will face similar weather patterns.

The PMD also cautioned about urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, and Faisalabad, and warned of landslides in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.Flash floods are likely in streams and nullahs of Kashmir, Murree, and northeastern Punjab.The department advised tourists, travelers, and farmers to take precautions and plan activities according to weather conditions.
