PNP to deploy over 55,000 personnel nationwide for Balik Eskwela 2026 school opening security

The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced that more than 55,000 police personnel and force multipliers will be deployed across the country to ensure safety and security during the opening of classes on June 8 for School Year 2026–2027.According to PNP Directorate for Operations acting chief Police Brigadier General Rogelio Peñones Jr., the deployment plans have already been finalized under the annual Balik Eskwela security operations.These plans follow standard templates used by regional police offices nationwide to ensure consistent implementation of safety measures.The deployment will focus on key areas such as schools, surrounding premises, and major routes commonly used by students and commuters.PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.emphasized that police visibility will be increased to deter crime and ensure public safety during the school opening period.

He also highlighted that maintaining peace and order is a shared responsibility, involving not only the police but also school officials, local government units, and other law enforcement agencies.Coordination among these stakeholders is expected to strengthen overall security coverage and response capabilities.The PNP also confirmed that no specific threats have been identified in relation to the opening of classes.However, regional directors have been instructed to strictly implement security protocols and ensure readiness in their respective areas.
