The Police Command in Plateau state has issued stern warnings to its officers against unlawfully searching citizens' mobile phones without a court-issued warrant.

Commissioner Mr Bassey Ewah emphasized that no police personnel have the legal authority to inspect anyone's phone on the road unless authorized by a judge.

This directive was communicated to officers during a briefing in Jos, with Police Public Relations Officer Mr Alfred Alabo confirming the message in a statement.The warning comes as part of efforts to uphold professionalism and prevent misconduct among officers.
